News of Jackson Park Church:
This is where we'll announce the most recent additions to our website. If you've visited us before and want to know what's changed, take a look here first. We'll also reference upcoming events here.
Worship Opportunities During Lent
This year we will again be offering a midweek Lenten morning service each Wednesday at 10 a.m. Our theme for these services is the "Seven Last Words From the Cross." Join us afterward for refreshments and fellowship.
We will also be offering a Lenten evening service this year. Each Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. we will go through the Holden Evening Prayer Service. This is a wonderful, meditative way for us to worship God as the day comes to a close. We will offer a very simple supper at 6 p.m. for those who desire it.
Talent Showcase and Fish Fry
On Friday, March 12th, at 7 p.m., we will be sponsoring a talent showcase in which all church members may participate.
Prior to the show at 5:30 p.m., a fish fry in the Warren F. Zemlick Fellowship Hall will be served. There is a suggested free-will offering of $3 for each dinner. Please sign up in the Narthex or call the church office to let us know you are coming.
If you have interest in sharing your talent in the showcase, please see Pastor Fred, Gale K., Theresa P., Carmen V. or call the church office.
A special thanks to our Outreach team (Gale, Carmen, Kari, Elizabeth and Pam) and to Louis V. for his help in cooking the meal!
First Holy Communion Instruction Class
Classes will meet from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. on Tuesdays, March 16, 23, and 30. The children will receive their First Holy communion on Maundy Thursday at our 7 p.m. service. Additional Information.
SCS Christmas Program
On Sunday, December 20th, our Sunday Church School children told the joyful story of Jesus' birth with costume, song and readings. We are so very grateful for our Sunday Church School children, their parents, the SCS staff and all who support these wonderful kids! Check out more photos!
Live Nativity at our Church
On Sunday, December 6th, our Live Nativity event returned. This annual tradition at our church is a very popular and a wonderful outreach opportunity for our congregation. Many members, friends, and neighbors enjoyed the animals outside the church before warming up inside by listening to the Memorial United Methodist Handbell choir and the Magnificent Performing Strings special musical selections. Childrens' crafts, a bake sale and refreshments rounded out the afternoon. Food items were collected to "stuff the manager" for our community food pantry. See more photos here!
Do you see the sign?
A new church sign has been constructed on the front of the church property. We thank the Morks, the Buths, the Cranfields, the Zautkes and other family members and friends who have spent a great time of time and effort on this project in order to make the church more visible and more welcoming.
